New Vision Eye Center welcomes Robert M. Reinauer, M.D., as a new ophthalmologist starting in July.
In his role, Reinauer will provide comprehensive eye care at the Vero Beach eye center with a focus on surgical care of the retina, including retinal detachments, medical treatment of dry and wet macular degeneration and diabetic eye care.
Reinauer will join New Vision Eye Center after six years of postgraduate training. He is currently completing the final months of a two-year fellowship in Vitreoretinal Surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, Texas.
Reinauer completed his residency in Ophthalmology at Kresge Eye Institute in Detroit, Mich., in June 2013.
Prior, he interned at Baylor College of Medicine Affiliated Hospitals in Houston, Texas, with an emphasis on internal medicine.
Reinauer attended medical school at University of Texas Health Science Center School of Medicine in San Antonio and received his undergrad degree from University of Texas.
In addition to his comprehensive education, Reinauer speaks medical Spanish and has completed several ophthalmology mission trips to Latin America. In 2008, he visited Altamira, Mexico, with the Medical Ministry International (MMI), and in 2009 and 2011 visited Montemorelos, Mexico, also with MMI.
Reinauer is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) and holds a medical license from the Texas Medical Board. He has been published in both Retina Times and Review of Ophthalmology.
