Vision problems can develop so gradually that we may not realize the problem until it is quite bad. I had a cataract develop rapidly (9 months) in my right eye. I could look up at a star filled sky, cover my good eye and see only one or two of the brightest stars. Dr. Tate removed the cataract and my vision cleared up immediately. I only missed one day of work and could not be happier with the results.
My experience at NVEC was extremely positive. Like most patients, I was nervous and apprehensive about having cataract surgery. Afterall, it was my eyes! However, upon arriving at the facility, I noticed how beautiful, clean and state-of-the-art it was. I was greeted by friendly and caring personnel who directed me to their technicians who guided me gently through all the various tests. I then saw Dr. Ttae who has a wonderful bedside manner. He explained what he was going to do, and even drew diagrams to help me understand my surgery. Their nurse anesthetist was very comforting explaining step by step what to expect. The day of surgery went exactly as planned. In the pre-op area, Dr. Tate came in to see me and said “we’re going to take good care of you and you’re going to love the results.” Well, Dr. Tate was absolutely right! He took wonderful care of me, and I LOVE the results. I could not be happier! I highly recommend NVEC to anyone needing cataract surgery.

I was apprehensive about my cataract surgery, as I have never had surgery in 64 years. Even though New Vision is over 40 miles from home, I decided to go for it. I have worn glasses since I was about 5 years old, so severely nearsighted that I was blind without them. Then I developed glaucoma, and my eyesight got worse. After being evaluated at another ophthalmology group in Vero Beach and being told by that doctor that he would rather not address my problem, as there was only a 50% chance of success, I opted out of having anything done. Then I read an article on Dr. Reinauer and how he has a treatment for “the cloud in the vision” that I had been experiencing. When I met with him, he made me feel that treating my condition would be a normal procedure for him, not a big deal. Before moving to Vero Beach I had a botched cataract surgery in Ft. Myers, Florida. I heard rave reviews about New Vision Eye Center and made an appointment to see if they could correct my vision. Dr. Reinauer stated that he could use the Yag laser. My vision was finally corrected and the feeling of having a veil over my eye disappeared. Let me tell you, if you have a blip (floater) in your field of vision and it doesn’t disappear as some do, go to NVEC and ask for Dr. Reinauer. My “floater” was center vision and never moved and right after a thorough exam I was scheduled for a procedure to remove this annoyance. The procedure was easy (for me) with no pain. I am so grateful to have found Dr. Reinauer. I was diagnosed with a 2nd macular hole in my left eye. I went through a terrible experience 4 years ago for the first macular hole at a very well known eye hospital in Miami. I was instructed to lie face down 24/7 for a week after surgery. I was very hesitant to have the surgery again. Dr. Reinauer assured me that he could perform the surgery to close the hole and I would spend 1 afternoon face down. We me several times and each time my confidence was built. He encouraged questions and never rushed me to make a choice. I had large floaters in both eyes for several years. They caused significant blurred vision. Dr. Reinauer performed surgery in both eyes to remove the floaters. The procedure was painless and he successfully removed all traces of any floaters in both eyes. My vision is clear and the best it has been in years. He was also quick to see me and diagnose a recent macular hole problem. Then, he referred me to another doctor in the practice, Dr. Reinauer, who calmly explained the procedure and repaired it speedily. I have been a patient of this ophthalmology group for a couple of years. I developed a problem this weekend and was able to request an appointment on their website, even though they were closed (a very easy system without having to log into a portal or any other nonsense.) The staff got me right in to see my doctor. The office was busy but they were right on schedule. This place runs like a finely tuned clock. The entire staff is professional and competent: the staff at the front desk (who do about a dozen things all at once while maintaining good humor), medical assistants (Brooke who saw me today), and the doctors (especially Dr. O’Brien, intelligent, kind, patient, down to earth, takes time to answer questions, and takes very good care of me. He is a very cool doctor.) Less than 24 hours after my initial online request, I was seen and on meds. Unbelievably, 9 hours later, my eyes are feeling better. I am so grateful I found this practice and such a caring doctor. Thank you, Dr. O’Brien and the entire staff. I truly appreciate the entire staff. Stay safe and keep doing what you do best – helping me and all of your patients have healthy eyes.
Dr. O’Brien and the team at New Vision made sure that I was comfortable and had a complete understanding of my LASIK procedure through the entire process, from my initial pre-op evaluation to my post-ops. My vision went from 20/20 with glasses to 20/15, and I’m able to see things I was never able to see before, even with glasses! I cannot say enough good things about New Vision Eye Center and Dr. O’Brien. I would highly recommend them to anyone interested in LASIK.
I initially went to New Vison Eye Center to consult with Dr. O’Brien about LASIK surgery. My vision was so poor that he said I was a better candidate for a procedure that his colleague, Dr. Tate, could perform instead. I went from trepidation to optimism after meeting with Dr. Tate. He performed a Clear Lens Exchange – basically, cataract surgery with a new lens implant. Who would have known that after two very short, seamless procedures that I would go from legally blind to being able to see clearly without glasses for the first time in my life. My experience was life changing and I am forever grateful to the New Vision Eye Center team.
For years I felt that my droopy lids were interfering with my eyesight, especially my peripheral vision. I also looked tired all of the time. When Dr. O’Brien suggested that I might be a candidate for eyelid surgery, I was completely on board. Swelling, bruising, and downtime were minimal and recovery was easier than I expected. I am so happy that I had this done. My sight has improved, everything seems brighter, and I look and feel 10 years younger.
