VERO BEACH — Paul V. Minotty, MD, along with Drs. Meyer, O’Brien, Tate, and Winslow, is pleased to announce that their clinical coordinator, Cynthia Thompson, COA, has achieved the designation of Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT), awarded by the Joint Commission of Allied Health Professionals.
Each level of certification has prerequisite eligibility requirements and an examination process. Ophthalmic medical personnel progress from one level of certification to the next, through work experience and examination. A COT has demonstrated elevated technical skills and has more experience than a COA, the first level of this distinguished certification. Certified ophthalmic assistants and technicians have the knowledge and the confidence to provide better patient care. The JCAHPO certification is recognized internationally by physicians, employers, administrators, and other ophthalmic and medical personnel.
“We are understandably proud that Cynthia for has achieved this distinction. Her demonstrated level of expertise with patient care further enhances New Vision Eye Center’s mission of earning trust, one patient at a time,” Dr. Minotty explained.
New Vision Eye Center is located at 1055 37th Place in Vero Beach, across from Indian River Medical Center. Visit them online at NewVisionEyeCenter.com or call 772.257.8700
