Vision Correction Procedures

There are a variety of remedies to vision problems, ranging from the traditional solution of eyeglasses and contacts up to and including vision correction procedures like LASIK and AST. David J. O’Brien, M.D., our fellowship trained refractive surgeon, will discuss with you which vision correction procedure is right for you.

  • LASIK Laser Vision Correction: The most widely performed laser vision correction procedure, LASIK is virtually painless and quick-healing.
  • AST: A type of laser vision correction used for some patients with specific needs. Your surgeon may recommend it depending on your diagnosis.
  • Wavefront Optimized LASIK or AST: A type of LASIK that considers the unique curvature of your eye to create a customized procedure. It addresses problems that eyeglasses, contact lenses, and conventional LASIK can't address.
  • Other Non-Laser Vision Correction Procedures: Conductive Keratoplasty (CK) and phakic intraocular lenses (cataract surgery).
